Brown Don't Frown: Stand-Up Comedy Series

  • 1925 South Michigan Ave Chicago, IL 60616 (map)

South Asia Institute is excited to introduce Brown Don't Frown, a new program series exploring the role of humor in community building, cultural expression, and storytelling.

The series highlights South Asian comedians and performers whose work engages questions of identity, family, migration, belonging, and contemporary life through the lens of comedy. By creating opportunities for laughter and dialogue, Brown Don't Frown celebrates comedy as both an art form and a powerful social connector.

We launch the series with nationally touring comedian Vik Pandya, whose sharp wit, relatable storytelling, and observational humor have earned him audiences across the country. Joined by a lineup of exceptional comedians, Pandya will lead an evening that explores the joys, contradictions, and shared experiences of South Asian American life.

Whether you're a devoted comedy fan or simply looking for an enjoyable night out,
Brown Don't Frown offers an accessible and welcoming space to gather, laugh, and connect.

Each ticket includes admission and one complimentary drink ticket.

Join us for the first installment of a new series where comedy, culture, and community meet.
