Job description
Communications and Marketing Coordinator
Develops and implements marketing and communications strategy to promote awareness of and deepen audience engagement with South Asia Institute exhibitions and programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media Management
Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with SAI’s mission and program goals.
Manage SAI’s social media platforms, (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and other platforms), ensuring engaging, mission-aligned messaging.
Research and create a weekly newsletter to promote exhibitions and programs
Track & report reach, engagement, impressions, click-throughs, follower growth.
Marketing
Create and implement a marketing/ advertising strategy to increase online engagement, in person attendance, ticket sales, donations and venue rentals
Research and maintain advertising accounts and subscriptions
Communicate with Community Partners
Website Management
Update content regularly, monitor site analytics and user engagement
Maintain visual consistency with SAI’s brand and design standards
Public Relations and Media
Create press releases, blog posts, and promotional materials.
Other Responsibilities
Capture and edit photos and short-form videos at events and exhibitions.
Collaborate with artists, curators, and program staff to generate authentic content.
Supervise interns, as needed
Other event related tasks as assigned
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
Strong writing, editing, and formatting skills.
Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok).
Experience with email marketing tools (Constant Contact).
Basic graphic design skills (Canva required; Adobe Creative Suite a plus).
Familiarity with website CMS platforms ( Squarespace, Wix).
Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Meta Insights, Google Analytics).
Comfort with basic photo and video editing for digital content.
Familiarity with Hootsuite
