On September 12, 2026, South Asia Institute will host a celebration and fundraising gala event to celebrate our successes, as well as the audiences and artists who participated in our journey. 

South Asia Institute (SAI) is the only independent non-profit 501 (C)(3) South Asian American arts and cultural center in Chicago dedicated to preserving, promoting, and presenting South Asian arts while embracing the cultural similarities and differences among the broader communities of Chicago. 

At South Asia Institute, we believe that an appreciation of the art and culture of our past can bring greater perspective and significance to our present and is a vital guide for our future. 

We value inclusivity, creativity and artistic excellence and we are committed to amplifying South Asian voices through thought provoking exhibitions, vibrant artistic programs, and innovative educational initiatives. We strive to connect with our larger human family by introducing them to the richness and widespread influence of our culture.
