Rajmohan Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, has been engaged in efforts for justice and reconciliation for over sixty years. He strongly supports the rights of individuals to freely express their differences, but he also believes that he, and people like himself, have a duty to help bridge those differences and re-establish trust and harmony.

He is an award-winning author and historian, who currently serves as Research Professor at the College of Education at the University of Illinois at Urban-Champaign. In a recent conversation with SAI’s co-founder, Afzal Ahmad, he read excerpts from his book Punjab: A History from Aurangzeb to Mountbatten. The book is a very personal and enlightening historical account of undivided Punjab.
